Weekly Update: September 16th, 2022

Dear Grinnell Newburg Board of Education, Staff, Family, and Friends:

Happy Friday! This has been a busy week for our students and staff.   We are well underway into the swing of things!  We are beginning to gear up for homecoming in the next few weeks!  Take a look at the sign up information below to register your float or group for the annual homecoming parade.

This past week our Board of Directors held their business meeting and approved the HVAC work for the middle school and high school.  This work will begin next summer. The district allocated 3.1 Million Dollars from SAVE and another 1 Million Dollars from allocated approved ESSER funds. The bids came in under $145,000 for the project. This project needs an incredible amount of lead time, due to equipment and labor shortages. We are in a good position with our timing and next summer the project will begin. The Board also approved the installation of the much needed dishwashers at the middle and high school too.

Band Booster BBQ:

The Band Boosters will be serving the annual Pork BBQ on Friday, September 16, from 5-7 out by the football field. They would like to invite you to come out and enjoy the supper, and support the Band Boosters and the entire 5-12 band program!
