NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS GIVEN:
The Board of Directors of the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District will receive bids to a concessions building at the following location:
1333 Sunset St. Grinnell, IA 50112
Construction is intended to start on May 18 th, 2026, following the owner’s receipt and approval of required Contracts, Bonds, and Insurance. Substantial Completion is on or before August 21st , 2026.
Interested bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid meeting at the High School on Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00pm. The High School is located at:
1333 Sunset St. Grinnell, IA 50112
Bid Opening: Friday, April 17th at 1:00pm in the District Office. The District Office is located at: 1510 Penrose St. Grinnell, IA 50012
Bids received after the deadline or at the wrong location will not be considered and will be returned to the bidder unopened.
Copies of the Bid Documents can be found digitally in the Master Builders of Iowa Online Plan Room. Physical copies can be sourced from Beeline and Blue with a deposit sum of $100.
The Bid Security shall be made payable to the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District. The Bid Security must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. The Bid Security shall be forfeited to the District as damages in the event the successful Bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within 10 days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the District insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and the maintenance of said work, if required, pursuant to the provisions of this notice and the other contract documents.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents.
Submitted Bids cannot be withdrawn until [30] days after submission.
The Project is tax exempt. Do Not include Iowa State Sales Tax in any calculation of Bid totals. Contractors and Suppliers will be provided an Iowa sales tax exemption certificate for this Project.
The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities or irregularities allowed by law and to enter into such Contract or Contracts as may be deemed in the best interest of Grinnell-Newburg Community School District.
