site.
Ed Klamfoth, Waverly-Shell Rock Superintendent, called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
Motion by Cedar Falls, second by Eldora-New Providence, to approve the agenda as presented.
Motion carried.
Motion by Aplington-Parkersburg, second by Sumner-Fredericksburg, to approve the minutes of
the November 2, 2023 meeting. Motion carried.
Michael Kalvig presented the year-to-date consortium financial report.
Ed Klamfoth shared that Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is ending some programming on the
Bremwood campus. They are currently working on the details of the lease agreement, but it is
understood that LSI will no longer be providing custodial and nutrition services at the Lied Center.
The consortium will likely have to incur these expenses that may be expenditures for the general
fund. It is believed that these will be general fund expenses for districts. Since the future of the
Lied Center building is unclear, Klamfoth suggested that anyone who is aware of potential space
for Lied Center programming should contact the Waverly-Shell Rock Administration office.
Stacy Meisgeier, Lied Center Principal, shared that the Lied Center has 57 students attending. As
the result of a needs assessment, it was determined that professional development for next year
will be focused on specially designed instruction (SDI). Stacy voiced her appreciation for the
collaboration with sending districts.
Next meeting, Fall 2024.
Klamfoth adjourned the meeting at 12:19 p.m.
