SENIOR MEETING

Senior students: there will  be a mandatory meeting today  during Seminar.  Please make every effort to attend! 

 

Report to your Seminar teacher for attendance and then proceed to the auditorium.  Cap & gown distribution will begin on Monday, May 6th. Rental cost is $28. We’ll accept cash or check at the time of pickup or you can pay in advance on Infinite Campus.  

 

STUDENT COUNCIL

Reminder to students, please submit your applications to be considered for Student Council.  You should respond to the form that was emailed to you. If you are unable to find the form, please reach out to Ms LeBahn.  

 

IMPORTANT INFO FROM TECH DEPARTMENT

Seniors: Please see the email "School Google Account Data Transfer" from Mrs. Kostow on moving your school Google files to a personal account. Be sure you transfer any important emails that might contain letters of reference, college information, scholarship information, etc.

 

Laptop/Charger/Bag Check-in:

 

Seniors: Laptop/charger/bag check-in is Friday, May 17 in the HS Tech Office (Room 10). 

 

Freshman/Sophomores/Juniors: 

May 29 & May 30 - HS Tech Office (Room 10) 

May 31 - HS media center 

*ALL students are required to check-in the school-issued laptop/charger/bag after their last final. If you are on the list to use your laptop for a school-related summer class or activity, you still need to check it in and Tech will check it back out to you for summer use. 

 

CONCERT

Sam Simon, Teylor Doty, Brayden Graff and Tucker Stallman have set up a benefit concert named “DAM Fest” for the Grinnell School of Music as their Senior Capstone Project. Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation will be sponsoring the event. It will take place tomorrow on the Central Park stage. See attached flier.

The performance is set to begin at 8 pm and end at 9:15 pm. The first performance will be JB & Mick at 8 pm for 35 minutes. The second performance will be DAM at 8:40 for 25 minutes. There will be plenty of food and water at the event along with bathroom facilities. Free will donations would be greatly appreciated and we hope to see you there! IVCC REGISTRATION

10th - 11th Grade Students were sent a Google Form from Mr. Stubbs to start the Iowa Valley registration process for next year. If you are interested in taking Iowa Valley classes next year, please complete that form (be sure to complete all the steps). If you need help, please reach out to Mr. Stubbs.

 

ALL THINGS PROM ~ A Night of a Thousand Lights

Flowers: Please be sure to get your orders in early! Prom falls on Mother’s Day weekend so the flower shops will be swamped.

Reserve your space for a delightful meal in town hosted by Grinnell College Dining Services in an elegant, relaxed, local setting. The meal will be preceded by a soft drink social hour with photoR opportunities at 5:30 pm. Dinner is served at 6 pm at JRC 101. View the menu here.  Make a reservation here. Prom Volunteers Needed: Junior Parents, the prom sponsors are asking for help after school during the week before prom May 6th-11th and May 13th at 9:00 AM for clean up. It would be greatly appreciated, especially the 11th and 13th. Many hands make light work!  Volunteers reach out to Jill Scheck at jill.scheck@grinnell-k12.org

 

Prom tickets are on sale now!  Juniors and Seniors, please check your email for prom ticket information!  Tickets must be purchased by Friday, May 10th at 3:15pm! Bringing a non-GHS guest? Be sure to pick up a form in the office to be completed before Prom. 

 

After Prom & Promenade:

SENIORS

Seniors - If you are looking for extra time to work at school and receive some help as we close in on your final days here at GHS, Ms. Barker will be staying after school on the following dates:

SCHOOL PERMIT

Eligible for a school permit form? If you need the form signed by Mr. Seney, just email karma.werner@grinnell-k12.org asking for such along with your driver license number and she will get the correct form ready for you to pick up in the office. 

 

ATTENDANCE

Parents and guardians can call the recorded attendance line any time 24 hours a day. The number is 641-236-1414. An automated email will be sent every Friday as a reminder to check your students’ attendance online to ensure that it’s correct.
