The annual Band Boosters Potato Bar - Jazz Night will be Friday, January 24 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The Middle School Jazz Band will perform at 5:15 and the High School Jazz Band will perform following the Middle School. We hope you will come support the Band Boosters at the Potato Bar while listening to the MS and HS Jazz Bands. The Band Boosters are looking for help for the Potato Bar. The Poweshiek County Dental Coalition has partnered for its 8th year with local dentists to offer a FREE dental clinic day on Friday, January 31st from 7:30am to 4:00pm. This is a no-school day for Grinnell students due to parent conferences. The clinic is for children ages 3-18 who have Medicaid/Title 19 or no insurance due to lower income and will offer exams and limited services as needed. A parent/guardian needs to make an appointment prior to January 24th by either calling Dental Associates in Grinnell at 641-236-6174, Family Dentistry in Grinnell at 641-236-6169, Family Dentistry in Montezuma at 641-623-2013, or Family Dentistry in Victor at 319-647-2141. Appointments will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. A parent/guardian is encouraged to attend the clinic with the child, although if cannot a consent form must be completed at the office prior to the clinic day. Transportation will be available upon request and the need should be indicated when making the appointment. Please see the flyer in the district’s Virtual Backpack for additional information!
NYC Fine Arts Trip Registration is now open. This trip is open to students who will be in high school for the 2020-2021 school year. We are opening registration to parents as well! Registration closes on JANUARY 31, and parents interested in registering themselves for the trip need to contact the trip coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than JANUARY 22. There will be a track meeting next Wednesday, January 29th after school by the weight room/ activities entrance. Wrestlers and basketball players can stop by coach Skillern's room during the day to sign up and pick up information.
Tickets for the boys basketball game being played at Wells Fargo on 2/1 are on sale in the HS office. Tickets are $12 (presale) and get you into GHS vs Mt. Vernon as well as the Iowa Wolves game at 7PM. You must have a ticket to get into the game. Ages 2 and under are free. If you can't make it into the office we will be selling tickets at Friday night’s game.

Grinnell High School Counseling Department will be holding a Scholarship Workshop for all 2020 graduating Seniors. Our goal is that every senior will apply and complete at least 2 scholarships during their time. They will receive one on one help from a counselor to find scholarships that they qualify for.
When: January 31st (9:00 am - 3:00 pm)
Where: Grinnell High School Media Center
Time: Doors open at 9:00 am. Counselors will be available as long as there are students or up until 3:00 pm.
Breakfast and snacks will be provided. We encourage students to dress comfortably and be ready to fill out applications!
