MISC

Trimester Test:

Thursday, Nov. 14th:  Tri Finals for Periods 2, 4, & 6

*  Period 2:  8:30-10:00 AM

*  Period 4:  10:15-11:45 AM

Lunch (open for all students) 11:45 – 12:30 PM - Lunch will also be served in the cafeteria for those who don’t want to go off-campus for lunch

*  Period 6:  12:30-2:00 PM

**  2:00–3:30:  Make-Up testing for students who were late to test or who require additional time to complete their tests

 

Friday, Nov. 15th:  Tri Finals for Periods 3, 5, & 7

JUNIORS and SENIORS. You should have received an email from Mr. Winkleblack concerning an upcoming career fair at the Iowa State Fair grounds. Please email him if you are interested in attending! Thanks!

 

SENIORS, if you want a professional image placed in the yearbook, we need this image by Jan 2, 2020. Yearbook only accepts head and shoulder images, no hats no props, portrait view only.  These images should be digital format, 350 dpi about wallet size. If you had a local photographer take your images they should email them to me:  janet.ahrens@grinnell-k12.org

 

SENIORS:  Please return your signed Graduation Commencement form that you received in the mail a month or so ago.

 

Yearbook: If you purchased a yearbook for last year please stop by the office and pick it up.

There are still a few of the 2018-19 yearbooks for purchase for $75.

 

ATHLETICS

 

COUNSELING OFFICE

Juniors and Seniors: Spring Registration for Iowa Valley is open. Please check your schedules to ensure you have the correct classes. If you would like to see if you qualify for IA Valley classes please see your counselor. We have a due date for registration of November 27th to ensure we have enough time to order books. 

 

 

 The counseling office will be open for students to stop in to get help with college applications, answer questions, and help with your financial aid. We are always open to students coming in and can speak with any of us about this, please schedule an appointment. Please scan our QR codes that are hanging up around the building! We also will be available from 8:00 am to 9:00 am every morning. We will be located at either the East or West side by the entrances. 

 

CLUBS/ACTIVITIES

 

IStep (Iowa Student for Tobacco Education and Prevention) will have their first official meeting for the 2019/20 school year on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:15a.m. in the Kriegel gym.  IStep uses education, fun events, and student inspired ideas to raise awareness about issues surrounding tobacco use. 

 

 Come join the Outdoor Adventure Program as they will be hosting their 7th annual winter campout on November 23-24 in the Grinnell area.  Come learn outdoor skills such as shelter building, fire building, emergency preparedness, navigation and more.  Build your shelter to sleep in.  Meet and work with students from other schools who have the same interest and passion for the outdoors.  There is no cost and no limit on how many can participate.  Sign up in Mrs. Scheck's room (60) to receive more information.  Deadline to sign up will be Wednesday, November 20th.
