PARENTS - please take note of the upcoming dates for the I-Smile program.  Last week we sent I-Smile forms home with your students, please complete and return them to the Middle School by February 8th.  There will be dental screening available for our 5th and 6th graders during the week of February 26th - March 2nd.  These dates are based upon enrollment numbers and my be adjusted based on how many students elect to participate.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact our school nurse Lisa Leris at 236-2750.

GMS Parents:

Our Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner!  They will be held Thursday, February 1st, and Friday, February 2nd.  The February 1st conference times will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday night.  On Friday, February 2nd, the times will be from 8:00 A.M. to noon.  When you  receive your Sign-Up Genius email please choose a time and enter your student’s name on the Sign-Up Genius form.  We are strongly encouraging you to bring your child with you to the conference.  Please sign up as soon as possible to reserve the best day and time for you to attend.  It is important to arrive on time since our schedules are very busy and each conference is allotted only 20 minutes.  Please be assured that your conference will have the same information about coursework regardless of the assigned teacher. There are shared documents at all grade levels to pass along course specific information.  We would also like to invite you to take the following survey.  I Have an Idea - Parent

The Poweshiek County Dental Coalition has partnered for a 6th year with local dentists to offer a FREE dental clinic day on Friday, February 2nd from 7:30am to 3:30pm . The hours have been expanded this year to help families attend; this is a no school day for Grinnell students. The clinic is for children ages 3-18 who have Medicaid/Title 19 or no insurance due to lower income and will offer exams and limited services as needed. A parent/guardian needs to make an appointment prior to January 26th by either calling Dental Associates in Grinnell at 641-236-6174, Family Dentistry in Grinnell at 641-236-6169, Family Dentistry in Montezuma at 641-623-2013, or Family Dentistry in Victor at 319-647-2141. Appointments will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. A parent/guardian is encouraged to attend the clinic with the child, although if cannot a consent form must be completed at the office prior to the clinic day.  Transportation will be available upon request and the need should be indicated when making the appointment.
