Spanish Teacher Substitute
The Grinnell-Newburg district is seeking an 8th Grade Spanish qualified substitute. This substitute would work in this position every other day with the opportunity to pick up additional district sub jobs if desired.
 
Certification: BA, Iowa Teacher's Certification or Substitute Authorization are required; Spanish Endorsement or equivalent preferred. 
 
Experience: Previous teaching experience with Spanish at the middle age level preferred, but not required. 
 
Skills Required: 
  • This position includes providing Spanish instruction for students
  • Also will be responsible for teaching a 15-minute Social Emotional (SEL) period each day
  • Must be Flexible and work with the dynamic of the building staff
  • Needs to have relationship building as a priority
  • Hours: Every Other Day 7:45AM - 3:35PM
  • Anticipated start date: As soon as possible 
 
ELL Substitute
The Grinnell-Newburg district is seeking a K-12 ELL (English Language Learner) qualified substitute. This substitute would work in this position every other day with the opportunity to pick up additional district sub jobs if desired.
 
Certification: BA, Iowa Teacher's Certification or Substitute Authorization are required; Spanish Endorsement or equivalent preferred. 
 
Experience: Previous teaching ESL to multiple age levels is prefered, but not required
 
Skills Required: 
  • This position includes providing English instruction for students with various levels of English language proficiency
  • Coordination and collaboration with classroom teachers on effective strategies to support the learning of EL students
  • Corresponding with families about program eligibility
  • Administration of ELPA21 assessments to determine proficiency levels and program needs/eligibility, and maintaining required ELL program documentation
  • Must be Flexible and work with the dynamic of the building staff
  • Needs to have relationship building as a priority
  • The ELL teacher will work under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Special Programs and the Middle School Principal
  • Hours: Every Other Day 7:45AM - 3:35PM
  • Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
