Tickets are on sale for Prom, students must buy tickets online. There will be no tickets sold at the door of the dance. Seniors and Juniors will have to enter their Student ID # into the Passcode option. If you are bringing a date from another school please select the GHS Outside Guest Ticket option. Students must be in good standing to attend any dances.

There is a wonderful service opportunity! On Saturday, April 4th from 1pm-4pm JOPPA’s Homeless Camp Cleanup is taking place! Students from numerous high schools will be coming together to tackle cleaning up Des Moines Homeless Campsites and seeing firsthand how the homeless in Iowa live. Seal of Biliteracy Candidates: The payment for the exam will be $19.90. This is a discounted rate for those seeking the Seal. Please make payment to the office before spring break so that we can order the exams for the testing date on April 4th! If you are unable to make payment by that time, please see Mr. Backlin to make alternate arrangements.
Join a winning team this summer! The Grinnell AmeriCorps team has 30+ summer learning positions available. Members will provide fun literacy-based activities for elementary kids here in Grinnell. March 25th and 26th Bates Flowers By Design will be at GHS during the lunch to measure for tuxedos and order flowers for prom. Students may bring a check with them or stop by the store with payment by April 8. WeCare After Prom will get 10% of proceeds.
Tryouts for the 2020-2021 Tiger Paws dance team will be held Friday, March 13th at 6pm in the high school new gym. Any student currently in grades 8-11 are eligible to tryout.

Girls Soccer will start on Monday, March 23. There will be mandatory weightlifting at 6:30am. The first practice will be at 4pm at Ahrens. The parent meeting will be at 6pm in the school cafeteria on March 23. Please make sure you have an up-to-date physical.
Connecting Grinnellians Tutoring program will be suspended for the remainder of this year. Tutors will not be available, student are urged to use E2 to gain needed support. If you have questions or concerns please see your counselor.
Seniors: Please remember that your Dollars for Scholars application is due March 27th. Please see your counselor if you have questions or need help filling it out. Guaranteed $500 for filling out the application.
Please turn in your "Rules Concerning Commencement" (attached) form to the Counseling Office ASAP. This is a mandatory graduation requirement. Also, if you have completed your 200+ hours of service and have all signatures, dates, etc. filled out, you may turn those in to Mrs. Plagge in the Counseling Office. Make sure all hours are totaled and your name is on the form.
Good luck to the high school robotics team as they head to Olathe, Kansas for the Heartland FRC Regional from March 18-21.
Student council is putting on a Trivia Night March 31st, at 6:30 P.M. in the lunchroom. Feel free to sign up a team comprised of 2-5 members.
