Weekly What’s Going Well:

Happy Friday!

The chilly Iowa weather has arrived!  Best of luck to our cross country runners who will be participating in the state meet tomorrow in Fort Dodge.

We had a big week at the board meeting Wednesday as we established the timeline for our Superintendent Search.  A big piece in this process is involving you, our stakeholders.  Below is a survey to gather your feedback regarding what qualifications are most important for this position.  It will help Grundmeyer Leader Services to find a great fit for both the district and community.  Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.

Information Session - Physical Plant and Equipment (PPEL) Levy Renewal

I will be hosting two information sessions at the Drake Public Library on the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy and its value to the Grinnell School District and answer questions from Citizens. Check out the flyer below for more information!

 Above and Beyond Award

This Wednesday at the board meeting we recognized Doug Kies a Grinnell Newburg Bus Driver for the Above and Beyond Award.  He was nominated for his efforts in building excitement for attending school, not just in current students, but future Grinnell Tigers as well.  Doug is a great addition to our District.

Check out the adorable video of the little sister who looks forward to seeing Doug each school day!

Iowa Local Foods for Schools Grant

Grinnell Newburg Community School District will be receiving funds from the Iowa Local Food for Schools grant to go towards purchasing local food items for school meals. This is the second year the district will be serving local foods in our cafeterias.  Kim Sieck, our Food Service Director, took the incentive in applying for the grant.  The district is lucky to have Kim leading our kitchens!
