Weekly Update: December 21, 2018

Dear Grinnell-Newburg Board of Education, Staff, Families and Friends:

Happy Holidays! I hope that all of you enjoy a restful Holiday break! Tis the season to sing about math, spread holiday cheer and come together as a Grinnell-Newburg School community!  Please be sure to check out GHS Math students in their holiday videos spreading a little math cheer on the Grinnell-Newburg Facebook Page. Also, you should take a look at Fairview’s story time character activity this morning. Students had an opportunity to vote on their favorite live action story! Bailey Park enjoyed the week with visitors for the Breakfast Book Club, Focus STEM day, building Gingerbread houses and learning a few dance steps. If you have not had an opportunity to hear Davis’s “12 days of Christmas” version well here is your chance to listen. Grinnell Middle School, even though they lost a day this week due to the water main break, did not lose a beat with their Holiday fun. The 7-8th grade Choir and band spread a little holiday cheer out at Grinnell Mutual yesterday.

I wish all of you a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year! See you back on January 2, 2019 as we celebrate learning, friends, athletics, and student success stories. The next weekly update edition will be posted on January 4, 2019.

Please remember to join us on January 10 at Fairview from 7-8 PM,  or on January 14 from 5-7 PM at GMS to participate in the Facilities listening sessions. Here is your opportunity provide feedback about our schools and facilities. You will have an opportunity to tour the school building too.  If you can not make a session, please feel free to answer the following statement on the Facility feedback form.
