Dear Grinnell-Newburg Board of Education, Staff, Families, and Friends:

I hope that this weekly update finds you and your family well! The weekend looks very promising for outdoor activities!

It is time to push that clock back one hour this weekend! We will return to Daylight Savings Time and "Fall Back" one hour this Sunday morning at 2:00 A.M.

Vaccine Clinic Update for students ages 5-11:

Here is the latest update:  We would like to run the clinic on November 11, 2021, pending the shipment of the vaccine to the IDPH. Once I have this confirmation for this date, I will email all who have registered. I hope to know soon. Here is the sign up https://forms.gle/d8SNA1uQg4WK95hW6   form for families to register.   Please register students individually.

IDPH News:

The positivity rate this past week was 6.70% for the 14 date rate and 8% for the three day positivity rate. There was a cluster of students this past week that have tested positive in our district. Please continue to monitor your child for signs and symptoms and continue to wash hands, wear a mask, and keep your student home if they are ill.

Thank you to IDPH for hosting our staff booster clinic this past week. We had 149 staff members receive the booster vaccine last Tuesday.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

The GHS Concert and Varsity Choirs will be presenting an array of fantastic choral music next Tuesday, November 9th at 7:30 pm in the auditorium. I hope you consider supporting these hard working students!

Throughout the performance, you will hear personal narratives that students have been writing throughout the trimester. These narratives give students a chance to tell their own stories about something “new” in their lives.

You will also hear many soloists throughout the performance. These vocal soloists include: Bridget Blanchard, Kaeden Peterson, Ellis Montgomery, Peter Simpson, Natalie Nieuwsma, Will Dahlby-Albright, Maggie Kaup, Ketsia Kiphanzu, Ian Durr, and Catherine Schubert. Justin Durr is performing the drum set for one of the selections.
