Dear Board of Education, Staff, Families and Friends:
The 2018-19 school year has officially come to a close. I want to thank all of our staff, students, Board of Education and families for a memorable school year. I wish you a safe and adventurous summer! No matter where you spend your time this summer, I hope that you enjoy a well deserved relaxing summer fill with summer fun, and spending time with family and friends. Enjoy!
The summer weekly updates will be brief to keep you in the loop on summer school, summer projects and activities that are posted on the Virtual Backpack.
Board meetings for this summer will be held on June 12, July 10, August 14 and 28.
This upcoming Board meeting on June 12 includes recognition of our students, coaches and Sponsors from this Spring 2019 who participated in a state event. This event will be held in the GHS Library. The board will then re-convene to the Board room for the business meeting. Watch for the Board agenda with items such as Bleacher bid approval, bread and milk bid approval, construction update, recognition, tech bid sale, and safety plan.
Honoring our Retirees: We wish Janelle Graff-FV Cook, Cynthia Little Davis-Cook, Don Ellis-bus driver, Jill Wagner-5th grade teacher and Donna Godar-K teacher well as they retired this school year! Enjoy!
A donation will be given to GNSF in Jill Wagner's and Donna Godar's names from GNEA.
End of year celebrations:
What a wonderful last day of school for our students! Celebrations, assemblies, recognitions and tears were evident as I passed through our schools to say goodbye to students and staff. Thank you staff for making this last day very special for students!
3rd graders utilize money provided by community partners to help better our community:
Mrs. Hughes' class decided on planting a tree to honor Mrs. Judy Wertz. They decided to honor Mrs. Wertz by planting this tree on the Davis grounds with a plaque to go with it. Mrs. Wertz dedicated herself to the students and families of our community and we are proud that our 3rd graders had an idea that would honor her and benefit the school and community at the same time!
