Weekly Update: May 27, 2022
Dear Grinnell Board of Education, Staff, Families, and Friends:
We have secured our memories of the 2021-2022 school year. Today is the last official day for staff. We wish everyone a wonderful summer break and well-deserved relaxation time with family and friends.
Summer Hours:
This summer, the District Office hours will be Monday-Thursday 7:30-3:30 PM and by appointment on Fridays. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns at any time over the summer months. District Office will be closed on July 4, 2022.
Summer hours will run from June 6 to August 8. School buildings will be closed from July 4 to July 22 and reopen on July 25. Any business during this time should go through the District Office.
Summer SLICK:
Summer SLICK begins on June 6, 2022, at Davis Elementary School. Families will be receiving an information letter with all of the details from Mr. Conway and Ms. York in the coming days.
Free breakfast and lunch this summer!!
GHS students Library Day in Collaboration with Drake Community Library:
The first annual Loud in the Library day was a great success. For one day only, high school students could get loud playing board games and doing crafts, puzzles, and challenges. Drake Library Youth Services Coordinator, and GHS Alum, Grace Morrison were also here, handing out snacks and talking to students about the Drake library summer reading program. Students who completed the free reading challenge, logging at least 500 minutes of independent reading since January, got to bring a friend to a pizza party in the library at lunch.
Graduate Clap Out 2022:
We wish the class of 2022 all the best as they will be graduating this Sunday at 2:00 PM! Congratulations Graduates!
2nd Grade Clap off:
The second-grade students also participated in the annual clap out as they will head to Davis Elementary School Next Year. They look ready and are prepared for their next journey!
End of year staff appreciation:
Congratulations to all of our staff members who received their years of service awards. We also want to thank our retirees and wish them all the best as they begin their next chapter in life. Thank you for all you have done for our students and families over the years. We appreciate you!
